Through the first few months of the NFL offseason, the focus around the Indianapolis Colts has remained fixated on star quarterback Andrew Luck's now over a year-long recovery from shoulder surgery.

Luck has continued to take strides forward that pushed forth a strong level of optimism concerning his availability to start the 2018 season opener. During a recent interview with Adam Schefter of ESPN,  veteran kicker Adam Vinatieri voiced that he has no doubt that Luck will be on the field in Week 1. (h/t Mike Well of ESPN)

“We'll see him. I'm not a doctor. I'm not privy to any inside information right now. He's a tough guy. He looks great. He's got a great attitude,” Vinatieri said. “He's not a guy that looks like he feels bad and goes ‘Oh, I don't know.' I've got 100% confidence that he's going to be back and ready to go. He's going to have a great season. He looks good. Everything about him right now tells me that he's going to be ready to go. And again, I'm not a doctor, I'm not inside the meetings when they're going on — I don't think that they, they haven't just pushed him back. They've had time and they've used it to make sure that he's a 100% healthy and ready to go. But he looks really good. I would guess that he'll be back. … we will see him. I really don't have a doubt.”

These comments from Vinatieri likely echo the organization's stance on the situation given that Luck is moving upward in his recovery. Despite yet throwing the ball, he hasn't shown any signs that would suggest otherwise about his health and future outlook for the 2018 campaign.

The Colts are hopeful that Luck can lead the charge this upcoming season after a disastrous 2017 that saw them fall well short of the playoffs. The front office has made it clear that they are confident he can return to the field by taking some offensive line help in the early rounds of this year's draft that was highlighted by taking former Norte Dame guard Quinton Nelson with the sixth overall spot.

There is still plenty of time from now until the start of next season, but it is clear that the franchise has a strong belief that their star quarterback will back under center.
