One of the most iconic Super Bowl victories of all time, the Philadelphia Eagles' toppling of the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII was in large part thanks to Nick Foles. The 2012 third-round pick became the Eagles' starter late in the season and navigated the team to a championship, earning the Super Bowl MVP in an iconic performance. Colts head coach Frank Reich served as the Eagles OC at the time, and now the two will reunite in Indianapolis four seasons later.

Foles agreed to a two-year deal with the Colts on Monday, per Mike Garofolo of NFL Network. The QB spent the past two seasons on the Chicago Bears before he was released earlier in May.

Foles will serve as a backup to Colts starter Matt Ryan, who departed the Falcons for Indianapolis this offseason in a trade. The former NFL MVP also has Super Bowl experience, but seeks greener pastures after a handful of down seasons following the Falcons' Super Bowl LI defeat.

Although the Colts are anticipating Ryan to start all 17 games this season, Foles serves as a nice insurance policy for a team all-too-familiar with quarterback injuries. Foles has settled back into a backup role since departing the Eagles and has proven he has championship potential even off the bench.

Nobody is expecting Foles to make more Super Bowl magic, but the idea that pieces of the historic and improbable Eagles run will certainly intrigue and entertain Colts fans as the season progresses.
