Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich has now joined the growing number of NFL coaches and players to speak out on the recent racial injustices affecting the country. Reich spoke to the country via a Zoom call on the Colts Twitter page where he spoke on the recent deaths of George Floyd and many others.

Reich also called out other people that ‘look like him' for being silent on the issues at hand and called for action and change in the country.

“It's not enough for a person who looks like me to say ‘I'm not racist.'. This kind of talk and thinking typically lends itself to a posture of neutrality, indifference and passivity. It's easy to be silent and do nothing when it doesn't directly effect you. This attititude simply doesn't evoke any conviction about doing what is right and standing up for the inherent dignity and rights of all people no matter the color of their skin,” Reich said.

Reich would also go on to put his support behind the team's official statement of the matter which was made on Sunday. Other coaches in both college and professional football have also spoken out on the recent injustices and spoke on the recent protests that have been sparked around the country as a result. Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores released his statement on the matter earlier in the week.

On the field, the second-year head coach would lead the Colts to a 7-9 record in 2019. The team went 10-6 the season prior, but after the sudden retirement of franchise quarterback Andrew Luck, the drop off for the Colts could have been much worse.
