2020 might have been struck with a brutal pandemic, but UFC star Conor McGregor had absolutely no issues making a lot of money.

Forbes just released their richest athletes from last year and guess what? McGregor was #1 on the list above the likes of LeBron James, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Conor McGregor earned a total of $180 million (!!!) in 2020, including $22 million alone from his TKO loss to Dustin Poirier. But the real money-making for the Irishman came out of the ring.

$158 million was earned from other endeavors, with a healthy amount of that money coming from the sale of his Proper 12 Irish Whiskey. This is also the first time ever that McGregor has come in at #1 on the list. In 2018, he was #4 after raking in $99 million, much in part to his super fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Conor McGregor will be focused on his rematch with Poirier on July 10th at UFC 264 as he looks for revenge from their last meeting.

But, win or lose, it's surely expected that Conor McGregor will earn even more millions. As for the others on the Forbes list, Messi earned $130 million, while Ronaldo made $120 million in 2020.

Needless to say, all of these guys are living the high life.
