Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott is returning from a devastating ankle injury, but now he's already dealing with a right shoulder injury at the start of training camp. Prescott left Wednesday's practice with shoulder tightness, with an MRI revealing a muscle strain.

The good news is it doesn't seem like Prescott will miss much time. Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy addressed Prescott's injury on Thursday and said the quarterback will still do work besides throwing over the next few days.

Via PFT's Josh Alper:

“Dak will still do all the drill work, he’ll be able do all the mock games,” McCarthy said at his press conference. “We’re really just going to cut out the throwing here for a few days.”

Prescott is still expected to be ready to roll for the Cowboys' preseason opener. Dallas is set to play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 5. McCarthy also doesn't think Prescott's shoulder injury is related to the ankle injury.

The Cowboys star quarterback needed two surgeries to fix the ankle injury, which seems to be fully healed now. Let's just hope this shoulder injury is indeed nothing serious so Prescott can start throwing again and be 100% ready for the preseason.
