On Wednesday morning, the Dallas Cowboys received some good news regarding wide receiver Michael Gallup, who has been out with a knee injury after being ruled out following their Week 2 matchup with the Washington Redskins.

Not only is this good news for the Cowboys, but the news will be well received by quarterback Dak Prescott, who struggled mightily against the teams first real test against the Saints. Prescott had just 223 yards including a late game Hail Mary interception.

Before sustaining his knee injury, Gallup looked like the teams number two wide receiver with 13 catches for 226 yards in just two games. His connection with Prescott especially on the deep ball looked like it could be something special. Amari Cooper will also benefit from having Gallup back, as it gives the defense another dangerous receiver to cover.

Although Gallup is simply practicing and will likely be limited in his action, it is still a good sign for a player recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery. Having him back will give Dak another weapon to throw the ball to and can open up short yardage and running plays.

We have already seen what Kellen Moore's offense can do with a fully healthy roster and after being surprisingly shut down by a Saints defense who had struggled up to that point, Moore will come out Sunday ready to prove his offense is no fluke.

Dallas will take on the Green Bay Packers this week in a major NFC playoff race showdown.
