Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee is entering his tenth year in the league and is back to where it all started, playing special teams. Lee came back to the team on the reduced salary and is ready to help the team in whatever way he can.

“I am just trying to help anyway I can,” Lee said Sunday via Pro Football Talk. “I like being on the field. I want to try to make an impact. You can make a lot of plays on special teams, hopefully plays that can change a game. Having an impact anyway I can, that’s my goal.”

Lee has moved to strongside linebacker with Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith filling the other two roles. Lee knows that he may be entering the last few years with the team and how important it is to stay healthy so he can play his roles on the team.

Lee has made it clear that he is going to soak up his time with the Cowboys as much as he can and do anything he can for the team, and that's why he decided to volunteer to play on special teams.

“I said, ‘I am trying to get out there and play. You need depth in special teams,'” Lee said. “That is part of being a linebacker, being able to play a lot of those positions. Making myself available is what I tried to do.”

Most importantly, Lee needs to stay healthy, something that has always been an issue, but right now, it appears the mindset is right heading into this season.
