Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith looks like he'll miss yet another week of action as the Cowboys take on the New Orleans Saints Thursday night. According to Jane Slater of NFL Media, Smith's chances of playing Thursday are “not looking good.”

Smith missed last week's Thanksgiving matchup against the Washington Redskins with a stinger and an elbow injury. Cameron Fleming started in Smith's place and played the entire game with Smith on the sidelines.

This matchup against the Saints should be quite the game, and the Cowboys could really use this win if they hope to retain their first-place spot in the NFC East. It will be a tall order, though, given New Orleans is 10-1.

The matchup next week against the Philadelphia Eagles is an even higher stakes matchup considering it's within the division and both teams are fighting for that top spot. If the Cowboys wish to continue their strong play and reach the playoffs after missing out last season, they'll undoubtedly need Tyron Smith's high level of play out there.

Cameron Fleming filled in admirably for Smith, but Smith is perhaps the best left tackle in the league and Fleming can only do so much to fill that void. Smith is a truly irreplaceable talent on the field.

The Cowboys have a good offense, but they could be a great offense with Tyron Smith considering how elite he is at his position. The Cowboys will have their hands full on Thursday Night Football against arguably the best team in the league right now with Drew Brees playing at an MVP level this season and a surging defense.
