Several pages for games and DLC on Steam vanished off of the face of the storefront. One of the biggest affected games includes the top FPS esports title Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO). DLC, games, and movies mysteriously vanished from the store without warning. Valve managed to restore all affected items in the Store but there's still no explanation about the odd occurrence.

FLASHBANG, AND CSGO IS OUT

Steam Database successfully tracked all of the affected games, which included CSGO, and items in the Steam store. The affected games effectively faded from the Store for several hours, possibly due to a Steam bug. Additionally, other items such as achievements, videos, promotional screenshots, and store descriptions vanished alongside their game listings. Valve's remedy for the unknown issue effectively calmed down the problem for now. Without knowing the true cause of the Steam store mishap, there's no telling if and when such an incident could take place once more.

The comes becomes increasingly worrisome because of the involvement of CSGO. Being one of the few Valve-developed games, its disappearance indicates something horrible went wrong. Twitter user @gabefollower first noticed the mysterious disappearance of CSGO from the Steam platform. Several players speculated the cause to be either a complete accident or a misstep towards an upcoming store update.

Regardless of player guesses, Valve failed to officially address the mishap. In all likelihood, players and Steam users everywhere could expect either an update for the digital storefront or for an official statement from Steam. Hopefully, Valve gets a better handle on their affairs so that such an incident will never happen again. Everyone may want to get a better grasp on this Steam bug. Without that, at the very least we should get assurance that Steam at least knows of the issue and is working on a solution.
