The Philadelphia 76ers won their first game of the season on Friday night beating the Indiana Pacers in overtime, 109-105.

They were led by Joel Embiid, who finished the game with 25 points, seven rebounds and two assists and continued to impress even his teammates. One of them is rookie big man Dario Saric who had nothing but good words to say about the 22-year-old Cameroonian.

Asked about what his first NBA win meant to him and the team, the Croatian international thanked the fans and said it was a great feeling. He also addressed the praise he got for scrambling for the loose ball with only 12 seconds left that proved to be a crucial play. And most importantly, he gave a forecast on what awards and recognition Embiid will get in his career, after seeing how good he is so far this season.

It may seem a little absurd and over the top for him to think this much of Embiid especially since he's only played seven games so far in the NBA, but the potential is definitely there and has given the Sixers fans a lot to be optimistic about. He has been proving all his doubters wrong and letting the team's top brass know that he was worth the wait.

In order for Saric's forecast of him to hold true, the 22-year-old Kansas product must continue to play at the highest level and produce numbers similar to what the top centers in the league make per game. As it stands, it may seem a long-shot for him to win the MVP and getting to the All-Star game yet, but if the development of his game will go on as planned, it won't be impossible at all.
