The Phoenix Suns made headlines on Wednesday, as rumors suggested that the franchise could be relocating to a new city soon. While the moving-out rumor has already been squashed, Suns superstar Devin Booker made it no secret that he is not in favor of the alleged relocation option.

Booker posted a cryptic tweet, which was viewed by many analysts and fans as a response to the alleged threat to move the franchise to another city.

Booker is considered as the main man of the young Suns squad. The Suns broke the bank for the 22-year-old superstar last summer, as the former Kentucky standout agreed to a five-year, $158 million extension. According to Scott Bordow of Arizona Republic, the massive deal is the highest for any player in franchise history.

Rumors about the Suns moving out of Phoenix started after Laurie Roberts of Arizona Republic reported that team owner Robert Sarver made a threat to a city council member. The council member said that Sarver told him about the possibility of moving the franchise to another city if an arena deal will not be reached.

However, Sarver quickly doused cold water on the relocation rumors. The 57-year-old owner posted a video through the team’s official Twitter account, where he expressed his commitment to keep the franchise in Phoenix.

“The Phoenix Suns are not leaving Phoenix,” Sarver said. “I am 100 percent committed and have been for the last four years to find a solution to keep them in downtown Phoenix, where they belong.”

Phoenix is currently at the cellar of the NBA standings with their 4-24 record, but their future looks bright. Aside from Booker, the Suns are expected to build their team around other young prospects Deandre Ayton, Josh Jackson, Mikal Bridges, and Elie Okobo.
