Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa draws in the viewers. According to Barry Jackson on Twitter, around 32,000 more homes in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale market tuned into the Dolphins' 24-0 victory over the New York Jets in the last couple of minutes of the game while Tua was on the field than had been tuned in for the rest of the game:

About 32,000 more homes in Miami-Ft. Laud. watched Sunday's Dolphins game during the few minutes of real time that Tua was on field compared to the number of people watching the rest of the game on average. So many people across town literally rushed to the TV when Tua entered.

This is not surprising considering how the Dolphins' season has been going so far and the anticipation of seeing Tua on an NFL field. Miami came into the game with a record of 2-3 under Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Tagovailoa was drafted with the fifth overall pick by Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft. He was a standout at Alabama before suffering a major injury to his hips which threatened his career.

While not surprising, this revelation shouldn't impact how the Dolphins move ahead with Tua's career. He is still expected to sit behind Fitzpatrick for at least the majority of the season.

What helps Miami is the fact that, in spite of Governor Rick DeSantis' allowing full capacity stadiums, the Dolphins are maintaining their limited capacity guidelines presumably for the remainder of the season. That will help them avoid a situation like what befell the Denver Broncos and the Jets with the fans forcing the organization to bring in Tim Tebow.

The Dolphins will more than likely continue easing Tagovailoa onto the field instead of rushing him for ratings.
