Singaporean Dota 2 caster and streamer Ashley Rita Wong Kai Lin received jail time due to credit card fraud. The esports caster allegedly used her friends' bank card details to make unauthorized transactions. The transactions in question amount to around $2,000 within three months in 2016. Wong apparently memorized the card numbers before carrying out the dead.

Ashley Wong, also a former Miss Universe contestant, gained fame as a Shoutcaster and Streamer for Dota 2. She manned analyst desks for multiple small-scale tournaments and esports events in the past. Additionally, Wong flew to international events to serve as a foreign talent on multiple occasions. The Dota content creator shared her side of the story in a short statement posted to her private Instagram account. Initially, Wong seemed genuinely apologetic but the statement turned into a deflection towards the end.

“I betrayed my friends by stealing from them. And I've paid for it, literally and figuratively. Made restitution and now waiting for the court's final decision. To be very honest, I'm thankful they called me out on my s***. It was the wake-up call that I needed to snap out of the post-breakup pit of depression I was in after being cheated on.”
