The Philadelphia Eagles absolutely dominated the New York Jets in a Week 5 matchup. Philadelphia won 31-6, improving their record to 3-2 on the year.

Despite that, according to Josh Alper of ProFootballTalk.com, quarterback Carson Wentz admits Philadelphia wasn't at their best offensively.

“I love winning. But like you said, offensively, not our best,” Wentz said in his postgame press conference. “It’s something that we definitely need to clean up. We definitely have to be better. We have to stay ahead of the chains. We have to stay on the field. We know we can be better. We’ve shown it. We know we can. But we now have to execute it. Again, our defense played incredible. They put us in great situations. And you know, gave us 14 points. So they played great and again that’s a good defense but we can be better offensively.”

The idea here is that the 31 points weren't what they seemed. The defense helped put Philadelphia in a great position to score.

There is definitely truth to this. The Eagles sacked the Jets 10 times. They had two interceptions and a fumble recovery. One of those interceptions went for a touchdown.

So now the offense is responsible for 24 points. Take into account the extremely short field that they were continuously getting, and again, it makes a lot of sense.

Philadelphia ended the game with just 265 yards of total offense. Wentz threw for only 189, and the team had 181 passing yards total.

The Eagles had one fumble lost and averaged 2.9 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Wentz completed just 17 of 29 passes and threw only one touchdown pass.

It is definitely hard to argue with the belief of Wentz that Philadelphia didn't play all that well offensively in Week 5. However, they were playing the now 0-4 Jets and still picked up the W.

In the end, a win is a win. That's all that matters.
