The play of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has been heavily scrutinized since the beginning of the season. As it appears, the fifth-year quarterback has received some criticism during practice, with NFL Network's Michael Silver describing the quarterback's practice style as “sloppy”.

Wentz responded to those notions on Wednesday, according to Sports Radio 94 WIP's Howard Eskin.

Wentz hasn't turned in consecutive stellar performances this season, which has contributed to the Philadelphia Eagles' woes this season. His latest outing against the New York Giants saw him complete 56.76 percent of his passes for 208 yards, resulting in no touchdowns. He's thrown at least two interceptions in five games this season, with two other games resulting in at least one interception.

The Eagles are currently 3-5-1 and surprisingly sit 1st in a lowly NFC East division. They've been bombarded by injuries that've hindered their success in more contest than none.

Even so, head coach Doug Pederson is making a rush to judgement in terms of changing any offensive schematics anytime soon.

“Listen, we’re still sitting here in a really good place in the NFC East,” said Pederson on Monday. I know it doesn’t look pretty. We understand that. But there’s still a lot of ball ahead of us, and there’s still I think a great opportunity for this football team moving forward.”

The Eagles have a pretty tough schedule in their remaining games, with the Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals being a few to name. They'll travel to FirstEnergy Stadium to face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
