Quarterback Carson Wentz hasn't yet played a preseason snap for the Philadelphia Eagles, and may not for the rest of 2019. But, he knows he'll be ready to play regular-season ball when Week 1 rolls around.

Wentz has repeated throughout the offseason that he'll be ready for the Eagles' opener against the Washington Redskins on September 8th. No matter if he's played preseason ball or not, he's going to be out there prepared for what Washington gives him.

“I'm ready for Week 1,” Wentz said on Tuesday, via Pro Football Talk.

Wentz may enter the 2019 season without taking an NFL hit since early December of 2018. But, that's nothing to worry about for the quarterback; he'll inevitably do so sometime.

“I’m really not worried about it, to be honest,” Wentz said, per PFT. “Every year, coming in, it’s always going to be that first hit, no matter if it’s three months off, six months off, 10 months, 12 months. It doesn’t really matter. That first hit wakes you up real quick and it’s football mode again.”

Though Wentz hasn't been ruled out for the “dress rehearsal” third preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, one may presume he won't play considering his injury history and importance to Philadelphia.

Wentz tore his ACL and LCL late into the 2017 season. Then, in 2018, a back vertebrae fracture came to light, which ultimately forced him out the rest of the season. SportsInjuryPredictor.com flags Wentz as medium risk for re-injury and predicts he'll miss 1.2 games in 2019. Does Philadelphia want to test that in the preseason? (hint: no)
