Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz started Sunday afternoon's matchup against the Green Bay Packers. However, rookie signal caller Jalen Hurts finished it.

The Eagles offense was nothing short of anemic with Wentz on the field while Hurts seemed to immediately give the lowly NFC East franchise a major boost despite Philadelphia still coming up short on the road in Green Bay.

Even though Wentz was benched in favor of Hurts, the veteran signal caller doesn't appear to be too worried about losing his starting job for the Eagles in the “City of Brotherly Love.”

“No. I’m not the type to worry about it and look over my shoulder,” Wentz told reporters after the Eagles' latest loss, via John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I can play better. There’s always going to be different things going on. Part of this business. That’s what I signed up for. I’ve got to handle it all.”

Despite the fact that the Eagles have Wentz under contract for the foreseeable future, which is definitely not an inexpensive venture for Philadelphia either, the NFC East franchise still decided to select the aforementioned Hurts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma. With Hurts first starring at the heralded University of Alabama before wrapping up his collegiate career as a member of the Sooners, the first-year quarterback has shown time and time again that he can hold his own on the grandest of stages.

With Wentz struggling mightily and the Eagles' season seemingly slimming away as the weeks go by, perhaps it is time for Hurts to take over so Philadelphia can at least see what the team has moving forward.

The Eagles unexpectedly lost a game in the NFC East standings to the New York Giants, who went into Seattle and beat the Seahawks to increase their division lead. Philadelphia now faces a tougher path to a division title and the playoffs, magnifying the importance of the Wentz-Hurts position battle.
