Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is coming into this season off another season-ending injury and it seems those injury issues are making experts drop him down in the quarterback rankings.

Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice compiled a list of where experts ranked Wentz on their quarterback lists heading into the season. Most ranked him 10th or lower.

Wentz didn't make Kurt Warner's top 10 quarterback list and Chris Simms ranked him 11th for NBC Sports. In Simms explanation for NBC Sports, he said the talent is no doubt top five, but part of the rankings is being available and that is something that Wentz hasn't yet shown he's capable of.

Now, here’s the thing with Carson Wentz and why he’s No. 11. It’s really availability, is really the No. 1 reason he’s No. 11. The talent is top five talent. The talent to carry a team, make plays off schedule, scramble, run, throw on the run, stand in the pocket, he can do all of those things. I’ve made the comparison many times. He’s really, to me, he’s a little bit more physically gifted version of Andrew Luck. That’s how I look at Carson Wentz.

The last few years Carson Wentz had Nick Foles to fall back on and it's really taken some of the heat off of Wentz for the injuries he has suffered. Foles is now gone and if Wentz were to get injured again it would be Josh McCown who would be the replacement.

If Wentz has a big year and can stay healthy for the entire season, maybe next year his ranking can be up in the top five.
