During the Philadelphia Eagles' 17-10 loss to the New England Patriots, their offense experienced significant struggles. A significantly problematic area was their lack of execution on critical 3rd downs.

To put it into perspective, the Eagles ended their loss by going 3-of-13 on 3rd down conversions and that translated to just a 23.1% conversion rate. Carson Wentz was asked about the team's lack of execution in this area and he expressed that it was ‘terrible' and that they need ‘to be better' starting with him.

Wentz credited the Patriots for their defensive game plan. He noted that New England was able to move the ball effectively towards the end of the game while their offensive attack became stagnant.

“Hats off to them,” Wentz said, via Nicole Yang of Boston.com. “They had a really good game plan, especially late there. That’s frustrating, especially the way we were able to move the ball and get down there and then we were kind of just stagnant there at the end.”

There were two fourth-quarter drives that featured critical errors from Wentz that featured critical mistakes from him. He finished his performance with just 214 passing yards and one touchdown after completing only 20 of his 40 pass attempts.

“I don’t think they did anything kind of crazy. We just didn’t make our plays. It starts with me. I got to be better. I got to distribute the ball better and get rid of it.”

The Eagles host the Seattle Seahawks at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 12.
