Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay was fined $10,500 for unnecessary roughness in his tussle with Seattle Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Slay not only got torched by Metcalf on the field—but now his pockets are taking a hit.

It's been a rough season for the Eagles and this fine on Darius Slay pretty much sums up the campaign for the team. It was embarrassing enough that Slay couldn't guard DK Metcalf on Monday Night Football. The NFL just made life even more miserable for the former Detroit Lions defender by hitting him with a fine.

The Eagles are 3-7-1 on the season and in third place in the NFC East standings. The team has lost three games in a row and will likely lose this Sunday to the Green Bay Packers, who are one of the best teams in the NFL with Aaron Rodgers leading the way.

Things are so bad for Slay and Co. right now that the Lions have more wins than the Eagles. This is notable since Slay used to play for the team and bashed former head coach Matt Patricia on his way out. Detroit traded Slay to the Eagles and the veteran was hoping to help Philly make the playoffs in the NFC.

While the Eagles can still win the NFC East since the division is the worst in football, things don't look too good for Doug Pederson's group at the moment.
