The city of Philadelphia displayed its eponymous nickname of being the City of Brotherly Love by acquiring former Eagles wide receiver and fan favorite, DeSean Jackson, from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It wasn't only Philly who was up in arms with this deal, as Jackson himself took to Twitter to express his glee upon receiving word that he'll be returning to the team that gave him start in the NFL:

The Eagles agreed to a deal that would send a 2019 sixth-round pick to the Buccaneers in exchange for Jackson and a 2020 seventh-round pick on Monday.

Although quarterback Jameis Winston recently gave praise to the veteran wideout during their brief connection in Tampa, it was all but inevitable that Jackson's time as a Buc was coming to an end considering their lack of chemistry on the field.

Jackson was considered one of the NFL's premier wide receivers during his six-year stint in Philadelphia, wherein all three of his Pro Bowl nods were attained. Four of his five 1,000-yard receiving seasons were met when he was an Eagle, with the lone exception being his 2016 run as a Redskin.

At 32 years of age, though, Jackson has seemingly lost some of his mojo, especially considering that his break-neck speed has been his strongest trait as a receiver. He did manage to show flashes of his brilliance early last season with Ryan Fitzpatrick taking over Winston's starting job due to a suspension but quickly petered back to mediocre numbers upon Winston's return.

Jackson will now be seeing downfield targets from Carson Wentz, who appears poised to deliver better results similar to his previous Philly QBs under center like Donovan McNabb and Michael Vick.
