The Philadelphia Eagles play the Washington Redskins twice a year, which means general Manager Howie Rosman saw a lot of Zach Brown. He was impressed with what he saw. The Eagles signed Brown to a one-year deal last week to replace middle linebacker Jordan Hicks and a big reason the team decided to pull the trigger on Brown was because of the “fire in his belly” he had for winning.

“When you play a guy twice a year, you got a pretty good scouting report on him,” Roseman said to SportsRadio 94WIP Tuesday. “We played against him. We know he had the fire in his belly to try to win. Those are guys we love bringing in here man. Those guys that have the burning desire to compete and win. We just keep trying to bring in as many of those guys as we can. To compete and build the fire within us.

“We want to win so bad. We want to win so bad. To have guys that you feel that from. It's exciting.”

Since Brown does care about winning a lot he made a good decision getting out of Washington and joining the Eagles. The Redskins look like they are going through a bit of a rebuild while the Eagles are trying to win another Super Bowl, and they should be contenders as long as Carson Wentz stays healthy.

This is a low-risk deal for the Eagles and if Brown has a big year he could earn another contract next year.
