Jalen Hurts stuffed the stat sheet for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday as he went 27/35 for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win over the Atlanta Falcons. Just for good measure, he also added 62 yards rushing in the 32-6 demolition of Atlanta.

Following the win, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni praised the play of Hurts and discussed why he was so good on Sunday, via NBC Sports Philadelphia.

“Taking what the defense gave him,” Sirianni said. “Methodically going down the field, making big throws when he needed to make big throws, creating, checking it down when he needed to check it down, making a run when he needed to make a run. Just playing good quarterback.

“Jalen was in complete control there. He was in complete control the whole game. He played a heck of a football game and (I'm) just really happy with the way he played.”

It was a huge game for Hurts and the Eagles after questions swirled in the offseason on numerous fronts for Philadelphia.

The offense looked in rhythm from the jump against the Falcons and the defense was just as good for the Eagles as they dominated in every phase.

Atlanta consistently dialed up the pressure calling one blitz after another but it didn't matter. Hurts was sacked just once on the day as the Eagles cruised to victory.

Next up is a heck of a test as the Eagles will play host to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2.
