Nick Sirianni gave off a rather interesting first impression to importers during his introductory press conference as the new head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Sirianni did not quite seem prepared to make his initial statement, which came off as something of a rambling monologue with no clear direction and plenty of repetition.

The odd statement was basically sent into the ether by Twitter users everywhere.

Reporters and former players alike got in on the action, turning Sirianni into a meme in what amounted to his first public appearance as Eagles head coach.

Sirianni did have important questions to answer.

The former Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator was asked about Carson Wentz's future and whether he would be the starting quarterback next season or not. Sirianni attempted to be diplomatic, saying both Wentz and Jalen Hurts were talented players and suggesting the new coaching staff wanted the opportunity to evaluate the roster. He also refused to comment as to whether Wentz would still be with the Eagles next season or not.

There has been little news as of late to suggest the Eagles will move on from Wentz. In act, Howie Roseman previously said the team had little desire to trade him this offseason.

Sirianni's hiring very well could be a move to appease Wentz. Sirianni coached under Frank Reich in Indianapolis, and Wentz had his best season (2017) when Reich was still Philly's quarterbacks coach.

Regardless, Sirianni has plenty of work to do as he prepares for his first season as a head coach. Perhaps improving public speaking will also be on the agenda.
