Often an NFL general manager's performance and reputation are tied to the quality of quarterback play, especially when said GM selected that signal-caller. Such is the case for Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman with quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Roseman decided to take this step further, as he declared his support for his 2020, second-round pick Jalen Hurts. Roseman spoke about the Eagles QB1 on SiriusXM NFL Radio

“You’re judging him off of four NFL starts in a tough situation with all of the injuries that we had. We want to see him grab the job and kind of run with it,” Roseman remarked. “See what you do over a period of time. I remember you told me this a long time ago, the more work you can see a player play, the more you can make decisions on that player. I remember we talked about this when we're talking about even extending players early versus getting the full body of work. I think that applies here to Jalen. We want to be in a situation where we get as much information as possible. Give him the best opportunity, build that offensive line, give him the right weapons, put him in a system that really maximizes his ability. Then go from there.”

This marks the first time that Roseman publicly stated his approval of Hurts as the starting quarterback for the Eagles, per the CBS3 Staff of CBSN Philly. The Eagles had a solid showing at this year's draft and even spent their first pick at No.10 overall on Devonta Smith, an elite wide receiver prospect to make like easier for Hurts.

The stage is set and with Carson Wentz out of the frame in Indianapolis, it appears the red carpet will be rolled out for the Jalen Hurts show in Philadelphia with the Eagles.
