It has been a rough year for DeSean Jackson in what is now his second stint with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jackson suffered a groin/abdominal injury during his team's Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, an issue that kept him sidelined through Week 8. He finally made his return against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, but lasted just one series before exiting the game as a result of re-aggravating the injury.

Fortunately for Jackson, the Eagles have a bye this week, so head coach Doug Pederson is hoping that the wide out can get right during the time off:

“He gets into the football game and he had a moment there where he said something felt something, and so we took him in for really precautionary reasons,” Pederson told 94 WIP on Monday. “And everything, what I heard after the game, checked out good. We’ll check him out again this morning. I’ll get an update here in a little while. But I fully expect him to be good in a couple of weeks.”

Jackson logged one catch for eight yards before leaving what ended up being a 22-14 win over the Bears.

His 2019 campaign got off to a great start, as he caught eight passes for 154 yards and a couple of touchdowns during the Eagles' Week 1 victory over the Washington Redskins, but he has been on the road to recovery ever since the second game.

The 32-year-old spent the first six years of his NFL career with Philadelphia, making three Pro Bowls. He then spent time with the Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before returning to the Eagles during the offseason.

Philly is now 5-4 and will take on the New England Patriots in its next game on Nov. 17.
