The Philadelphia Eagles made a huge splash at the trade deadline, acquiring Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi for only a fourth-round pick. You might think that might not sit well with other players at the running back position, but it doesn't appear to be bothering LeGarrette Blount all that much.

“There was no reaction. I can only control what I can control,” Blount said, via NJ.com. “That was a decision that was made from up top. … That is something I can’t answer. As far as I go, I’m just worried about me, what I can control and grind everyday like I’ve been doing.”

That's a somewhat expected reaction.

Blount, if he were being honest, probably felt a bit disrespected that the Eagles would bring in another productive talent who plays the same position as him. At the same time, especially now that he has had time to talk to some coaches, sharing the workload with another bruising running back could help extend Blount's career.

Either way, LeGarrette Blount remains a really talented and productive running back. While the addition of another back of similar ilk might seem silly, with injuries potentially looming for anyone on any given Sunday, it isn't unwise for the Eagles to add some depth at the position.

Especially not if, you know, Philadelphia truly believes it has what it takes to go on a Super Bowl run. Sure, yeah, maybe adding talent to a position that already has it might get some people upset, but better safe than sorry and all that jazz.
