The legacy of Zach Ertz continues to grow as he had hit another milestone with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. After catching his third pass of the day, Ertz is now second on Philadelphia's all-time receptions list.

The Eagles tight end caught his 453rd pass against the Detroit Lions in Week 3. By corraling his 453rd reception, Ertz has surpassed Pete Ratzlaff; who played for the Eagles from 1956-1966.

The only player who is ahead of Ertz in receptions in franchise history is Harold Carmichael. Carmichael was able to catch 589 passes with the Eagles from 1971-1983.

There have been plenty of talented pass-catchers to come through Philadelphia over the years. Despite that, Ertz has already cemented himself as one of the best receiving threats in franchise history.

Without a doubt, it's hard to imagine that the veteran tight end doesn't wind up securing the record in the next season or two. Last year, Ertz caught an NFL record 116 receptions (most single-season receptions for a tight end).

In Doug Pederson's offense, the offensive-minded coach loves to incorporate his tight ends in the gameplan. Regardless of who is throwing him the ball, Ertz is one of the NFL's best at his position. It just so happens that he a talented quarterback in Carson Wentz targeting him.

It's quite impressive to see a tight end be such a vital part of an offense in a league that favors wide receivers. Additionally, it's even more impressive that Ertz has become second in receptions in team history in just his seventh season in the NFL.

Nonetheless, it won't be long before Eagles fans can say that Ertz is their leading receptions getter of all-time.
