Over the last several days, there had been plenty of chatter surrounding Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Bennett's future with the Seattle Seahawks. Clarity was finally brought to the situation on Wednesday morning, with the team deciding to trade him to Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick and wide receiver Marcus Johnson.

This move has also opened up an opportunity for the Eagles to sort out their own dilemma involving veteran defensive end Vinny Curry, who is set to enter the third year of his five-year, $47.2 million deal. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the front office can look to move on from the 29-year-old following the addition of Bennett.

Uncertainty has surrounded Curry's future in Philadelphia given that he is set to be on the books for $11 million in 2018. His lack of significant production, with just 5.5 sacks over the first two years of the deal, has led to the organization to believe his performance on the field isn't worth that type of money. The acquisition of Bennett has provided them more assurance that trading Curry would be the best route for the franchise to take.

The front office will have plenty of suitors looking to acquire a proven talent that can be an effective asset as an edge rusher. There should be several teams looking to stock up on that aspect of their defense and be willing to take on his lucrative deal.

Curry is also still in the prime of his career with likely several more productive years ahead of him, at least through the remainder of his contract that runs through 2020.

At this point, there is no true gauge on the market for Curry, but this could pick up after the free agency period begins with all of the available talent getting to finally pick where they want to play. The only thing that has become quite clear is that the Eagles will look to move on from the veteran defensive end.
