Oklahoma City Thunder center Enes Kanter is dealing with an incredibly difficult situation right now.

Kanter and his family back in Turkey are in serious trouble with the current leadership of his home country, with the situation escalating to the point where Kanter's father was arrested yesterday. Kanter tweeted that this happened, that it could mean his father is tortured and he then went into further detail about the current situation in Turkey.

Through this time, Thunder fans have shown their love and support for Kanter, who has become one of the most likable players on the team since his arrival 2015. Some fans have even gone as far as to offer to marry Kanter in an effort to help him gain citizenship quicker in the United States.

Kanter has said that he is working harder to become a U.S. citizen as it is no longer safe for him to travel back to Turkey. While overseas two weeks ago, Kanter was held up by security at a Romanian airport while his passport was withheld. A warrant for his arrest was then issued by the Turkish government.

Kanter has been outspoken about what exactly is going on in Turkey and why he is standing up against it, going as far as saying that current Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is the Adolf Hitler of our time.

It is certainly a very difficult time for Kanter and his family. One thing that is for certain is that Kanter is cared for very much by the Thunder and NBA community.
