Israeli-born hoops star Omri Casspi has announced his retirement from professional basketball. The 10-year NBA veteran started his career with the Sacramento Kings, and had shorter stints with the Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, among others, playing for a total of seven different NBA franchises.

Casspi spoke out about his decision to retire, via report from The Times of Israel.

“Basketball has given me a lot over the years. I reached the peaks of European and world basketball that I never dreamed of. I did not believe I’d make those dreams come true,” he said in a statement.

The sweet shooting forward most notably received a championship ring during his stint with the Warriors from the 2017-18 season. This happened despite Casspi not being included in Golden State's postseason roster.

While he had his moment of glory playing for the Warriors, his best known NBA highlight reel was one against Golden State. During a December 2015 game, Omri Casspi caught fire for the Sacramento Kings and ignited a shootout with none other than Warriors icon Stephen Curry himself.

“I realized it was my time to quit active basketball play, and start the next stage of life,” Casspi added.

Good luck on the next chapter, Omri Casspi.
