The Atlanta Falcons likely won't have the resources to re-sign Austin Hooper this offseason, but there will be a handful of teams interested in him. Prior to his impending free agency, Hooper made some interesting comments about Tom Brady.

ā€œOf course (Iā€™d want to play with him), everyone would love to play with Tom Brady,ā€ Hooper told ESPNā€™s Vaughn McClure in a story published Saturday. ā€œHeā€™s one of greatest of our generation.ā€

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Brady's own free agency, the New England Patriots could be a team that expresses interest in Hooper. Of course, Hooper would prefer to be catching passes from Brady if he chose to go to New England.

Over the past four seasons, Hooper has gradually progressed with the Falcons. This past season alone, the former third-round pick caught a career-high 75 receptions for 787 yards and six touchdowns. As a result, Hooper is expected to help reset the tight end market, commanding an excess of $10 million annually.

Of course, the Patriots could use Hooper in their offense after failing to replace Rob Gronkowski in 2019. As a matter of fact, all of New England's tight ends combined for just 37 receptions, 419 yards, and two touchdowns in 2019.

For the first time in his illustrious career, Brady could be playing in a different uniform next season. At the same time, the Patriots still seem to be the front-runners to retain him this offseason. In the event that Brady returns, it appears that Hooper would be open to the idea of joining the Patriots.
