Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo achieved an amazing individual feat after winning his second straight NBA MVP title this season. Some way-too-early projections for next year's MVP have just been released, and as it appears, Giannis is not a heavy favorite to go for a three-peat.

This report comes via Mike Fisher of SI:

Fresh MVP odds for the 2021 NBA regular season have been set, and Luka Doncic is the overall favorite. Reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is a close second on the board while Stephen Curry rounds out the top three.

Despite his tremendous play for the Dallas Mavericks throughout the season, it still comes as quite a surprise that Luka Doncic has been named as the best bet for the 2021 MVP trophy. For what it's worth, the Mavs star will turn 22 in February, and he could potentially tie Derrick Rose as the youngest ever league MVP. Rose achieved the feat at 22 years and 191 days old, so he will still have the edge over Doncic, should the latter actually bag the MVP title in 2021.

Giannis is still expected to put up a formidable challenge, as he looks to defends his crown. Should Antetokoumpo succeed in doing so, he will join the likes of Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, and Larry Bird as the only other players who've won the MVP award for thee straight seasons.

It is also worth noting that the pundits have Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors in their top 3. A revitalized Dubs side are also expected to mount a serious title challenge next term, and this will highly depend on Curry's form and fitness throughout the season.
