After months of waiting for a team to sign him, Logan Ryan finally found one in the New York Giants. Ahead of his first year with the Giants, Ryan spoke out on him playing for his hometown team in the upcoming season.

“To be able to come home and play 20 minutes from Rutgers and an hour from where I grew up, it’s a dream come true,” Ryan said, via the New York Post. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity. . . . It’s been a crazy year, you never know where you’re going to end up, never know how it’s going to go. Coming home was definitely something I always thought about.”

Some people may not know but the Giants and the New York Jets don't actually play in New York. Both the Giants and the Jets play their home games at MetLife Stadium, which is located in New Jersey.

Ryan, a New Jersey native, played his college football at Rutgers University just 20 minutes or so away from where the New York teams play. The thought of playing for one of the New York teams seemed to always pique the interest of the veteran defensive back.

Back in May, there were reports that Ryan was expected to ink a one-year deal with the Jets. However, the deal never came into fruition and he remained a free agent for a few more months.

Then, the opportunity to play for the other New York team presented itself. Besides playing for his hometown team, the idea of reuniting with Joe Judge, who was the special teams coordinator for the New England Patriots when Ryan was there, was likely enticing for the two-time Super Bowl champion.
