New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. still doesn’t have the new long-term deal he’s looking for. He also missed the final few sessions of the team’s organized team activities, which may have been a sign of a potential holdout. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, Beckham is set to head back to New York today as he plans to attend the team’s mandatory minicamp, which begins on Tuesday.

There were reports earlier this offseason that Beckham would consider holding out if he didn’t get his contract extension. However, he did take part in the team’s voluntary workout program as well as the first few sessions of OTAs. And now, it appears he’ll at least be in attendance for minicamp.

It remains to be seen if Beckham will actually participate, though. Despite Giants head coach Pat Shurmur hinting on two occasions that Beckham is close to getting fully cleared medically following ankle surgery, the star wideout still hasn’t received the green light.

But even if he does get the all-clear, it remains to be seen whether OBJ actually does participate during drills or sit them out in order to minimize the risk of him picking up another injury prior to him getting his deal.

The Giants reportedly want to see that Beckham looks like the same player post-surgery before handing him his huge deal. But unless they’re willing to settle for drills to determine his status, it’s unlikely that Beckham has much incentive to participate in minicamp.
