Trae Young has been sensational for the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 playoffs so far, and he has undoubtedly established himself as a legitimate star and big-time performer. Amid the attention his son is getting, however, Rayford Young got real about the talent of the sharpshooter.

Following the Hawks' comeback win over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 5–a contest that saw Trae take charge and drop 39 points–the Young patriarch took to Twitter to share that what Trae is doing is no longer new to him. In fact, that swag, talent and confidence have always been there and people were just ignoring it.

Now that Ice Trae is showing what he is truly capable of on what could be said as the biggest stage in the world of basketball, Rayford hopes that fans, experts and even the haters and doubters “would start to notice his game.”

While Trae Young has become some sort of a villain with his trash talking, he has walked the talk. And as Mr. Ray Young wishes, people are noticing (or at least turning their heads to the direction of the Hawks youngster).

Young didn't make the All-Star team this 2020-21, but that didn't stop him from proving his doubters wrong. In fact, it might have just motivated him even more to show what a colossal of a mistake they just made.

Sure enough, it can be said that Trae is still not getting the respect he deserves. Nonetheless, if he is able to lead Atlanta to the East Finals, then people will be forced to look and see how bright his star is shining.
