The Atlanta Hawks have emerged as a trade suitor for New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times. Stein mentions the No. 6 pick of the 2020 NBA Draft being a key part of the deal, as well as potentially at least one other team.

Holiday has been involved in trade rumors for quite some time, and the Pelicans are reportedly openly shopping him this offseason. The veteran guard is owed $26.2 million for 2020-21 before a $27.1 million player option in 2021-22, which Stein says he's expected to decline.

ESPN's Zach Lowe mentioned the Hawks as a possible destination for Holiday just last week. Atlanta is looking for veteran help to help Trae Young and Co. move forward with a rebuild after a disappointing 2019-20 season. Holiday would fit the bill as a terrific two-way player next to Young in the backcourt.

The Hawks would likely have to give up more than just the No. 6 pick to get a deal done. It's also interesting to see that another team or teams could be involved in a potential blockbuster trade.

In addition to this rumor, Atlanta has reportedly had conversations with the Minnesota Timberwolves involving the No. 6 pick, Jarrett Culver and the No. 17 pick. Perhaps the Timberwolves could be that other team in a potential three-way deal with the Hawks and Pelicans.

Either way, it's clear the Hawks are busy trying to upgrade their roster for a playoff run.
