Jimmy Butler was on fire in Game 6 against the Boston Celtics, and his incredible scoring exploit pushed him to Miami Heat history that not even LeBron James or Dwyane Wade achieved.

The Heat forward dropped 47 points in the contest, marking the second time he scored at least 45 in the 2022 playoffs. He made 45 in Game 2 of their first-round clash against the Atlanta Hawks. According to Stat Muse, he is the first player in Miami history to have multiple 45-point playoff games.

Jimmy Butler certainly couldn't have chosen a better time to play his best game of the series. With their backs against the wall, he stepped up big time and made sure they won't get eliminated.

A lot of people though that the Heat are done for after back-to-back poor games from Butler. He failed to score more than 10 points in Games 3 and 4, while managing only 13 in Game 5. Fortunately, he was able to shrug off those ugly performances and keep Miami alive.

Now, the Heat have a chance to win at home and return to the NBA Finals after their bubble run in 2020. For what it's worth, Butler did warn the Celtics after their Game 6 win that Miami will win at home just like they did on Friday.

“We knew we were going to win this one. And we’re going to win the next one too,” Butler said.

Game 7 is scheduled Sunday, with the winner facing the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.
