Miami Heat president Pat Riley is looking forward to acquiring new guys in the 2021 NBA Draft. The only problem is the Heat don't have any draft picks.

Still, this hasn't prevented Riley from hinting at getting more help for his All-Star pair of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Recently, he doubled down on making moves in the 2021 NBA Draft with a pretty bold guarantee (via Heavy).

“We don’t have any picks, but I can guarantee you we’ll probably get a couple of good players out of this year’s draft, somehow.”

It's unclear how the Heat will pull it off, but it's hard to bet against Riley with his impressive track record. He was the one who convinced Butler to join South Beach two seasons ago. He also facilitated the controversial move of LeBron James to the Heat in 2010 and the sly addition of Chris Bosh.

In more recent years, Riley has cashed in on their draft selections, getting Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and Precious Achiuwa, while taking a chance on undrafted guys like Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn.

Riley has reportedly tasked Heat vice president of basketball operations Adam Simon to make moves for the 2021 NBA Draft. While it's not an easy mission, Simon said he welcomes the challenge.

“It makes our scouting staff feel good. Our boss believes in us, that we’re good at identifying talent and trying to get them and recruit them and then our coaching staff can develop them. That’s the whole part of trying to find those types of players. It’s an organizational thing.”

After all, when Pat Riley says something, you do it.
