The Miami Heat are fighting to keep their season alive right now as they face off against the Boston Celtics on Friday night in what is going to be a do-or-die Game 6 matchup for the shorthanded Heat. The last thing they need at the moment is for opposing teams to be snooping around in their front office to try and poach their top executives. Well, unfortunately for Miami, this is exactly what the Minnesota Timberwolves are trying to do.

After successfully pirating former Denver Nuggets vice president Tim Connelly as their new president of basketball operations, the Timberwolves reportedly now have their sights set on a handful of top executives from around the league to join Connelly's front office. One of them happens to be Heat vice president Adam Simon (h/t Jake Fisher of Bleacher Report):

Two other names being floated around the league as potential additions to Minnesota under Tim Connelly: Miami Heat vice president Adam Simon and Orlando Magic executive Matt Lloyd.

Along with the Heat, the Orlando Magic and the New Orleans Pelicans are also in danger of being upended by the Timberwolves. Connelly clearly has a plan in place and he appears to be recruiting some of the top execs from around the league.

For his part, Adam Simon has been with the Heat franchise since the early 1990s. Much like Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra, Simon also worked his way up the ladder, starting off as a video coordinator for Heat. Losing him would be a significant blow for the organization.
