Henry Cejudo is a man that knows a thing or two about walking away on top. He claims that's what UFC lightweight title challenger Dustin Poirier will do on Saturday.

The former two-division UFC champion points to the fact that Dustin Poirier has been talking about retirement lately and that's what will lead to him calling it. He thinks it's best for someone to walk away while they are on top.

“I do believe that Poirier wins,” Cejudo said on “The Triple C & Schmo Show.” You heard it here first, I do believe he will retire. Because when a fighter starts thinking about retirement, it’s true, you should retire, and I feel Dustin Poirier wins. I think he wants to leave on top.”

Dustin Poirier will be looking to become the UFC lightweight champion on Saturday when he takes on current champion Charles Oliveira. UFC 269 is considered a pivotal point in Poirier's career.

Henry Cejudo points to another factor in the retirement talks. The winner of UFC 269 is expected to defend their title against Justin Gaethje next.

“I don’t think he wants to fight Justin Gaethje,” Cejudo said. “I really don’t. I don’t think so. No, I was there at that (first Poirier vs. Gaethje) fight in Phoenix. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t retire. But when somebody thinks about retirement, you might as well do it, and I think Dustin Poirier, if he wins, he will retire. You heard it here first from king ‘Triple C.'”

Dustin Poirier takes on Henry Cejudo at UFC 269 on Saturday. The winner will be considered the best lightweight in the world and will be expected to fight Justin Gaethje next.
