LaMelo Ball is definitely following in the footsteps of the great Michael Jordan. It also helps that MJ is the owner of the Charlotte Hornets, which has put Ball in a great position to learn from the GOAT.

We're not talking about Ball's potential on the basketball court right now, though. What the Hornets youngster has recently done to put him at Michael Jordan's level actually has something to do with his off-court business ventures. According to reports, Ball is the latest investor in the new sports streaming app Buzzer, which also has MJ as one of its venture capitalists.

On Wednesday, Buzzer announced its first round of funding worth $20 million. Ball is one of the biggest names that was listed as an investor, which also includes the likes of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, former NFL Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker is also listed, and so are the likes of J. Cole, Sabrina Ionescu, and Naomi Osaka (h/t Jacob Rude of USA TODAY Sports).

According to Buzzer CEO Bo Han, the app's objective is to become “the discovery and curation tool that brings Gen Z fans back to live sports with simple access to ephemeral moments.” LaMelo Ball clearly sees the potential in this business venture and the Hornets star has decided to invest a significant amount of money in the same.
