After YouTube TV made a similar move earlier this month, Hulu became the latest streaming service to drop the Sinclair Broadcast Group-owned Fox Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) from its Live TV packages, which is effective on Friday.

Variety reports that Sinclair confirmed the development in an email sent to its customers. Hulu reportedly also sent a similar email to its customers, informing them that they will no longer be able to offer channels like the YES Network and Marquee Sports Network alongside the Fox RSNs. However, Hulu’s Live TV packages will still include sports channels like ESPN, TNT, TBS, as well as Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2.

Hulu also included this information on the Help Center page on its website, which states that it was dropping all 21 of Fox Sports RSNs, as well as the YES Network, which shows the games of the New York Yankees in MLB and the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA and Marquee Sports Network, which broadcasts the games of the Chicago Cubs.

The move to drop the Fox Sports RSNs comes less than a month YouTube TV took a similar action and stopped offering 19 of the Fox Sports networks it was broadcasting. Other streaming services who similarly made a move to drop RSNs from their live TV packages include Dish Network, which did it last year, and Fubo TV, which made the move back in January.

The Wall Street Journal earlier reported that Sinclair’s sports business and its creditors are preparing for a possible restructuring of its $8 million debt load, which is seen as an effect of the COVID-19 reducing the number of live sports being televised.
