When you’ve spent the most part of your career competing at the highest level, gaining almost every individual accolade possible in your field but are still yet to achieve something that would truly cement your legacy, your feelings can change.

Kevin Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder today in order to join the 2015 NBA champion Golden State Warriors. The move hugely improves a roster that already managed to break the all-time regular season wins record just a matter of months ago, before making their second finals appearance in two years.

Many have questioned the motive for Durant, who previously expressed his frustration with stars joining other stars in order to make their path to success easier, in the form of a tweet.

The tweet refers to the free agency of 2010, when LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh teamed up to form the ‘big three' in Miami.

Durant’s Thunder failed to take advantage of a 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference Finals this year, despite often appearing to be the stronger team. NBA legend Paul Pierce shared some sentiments of many fans today when he tweeted his opinions.

Golden State will be fascinating to watch this year, with their multitude of dangerous scorers available. Durant has set up the best opportunity he can to add a championship ring to his resume, but 2010’s Kevin Durant would seemingly disapprove.
