League of Legends has an illustrious history beyond being an insanely successful esports title. Riot Games carefully crafted a body of backstories that helped shaped the universe behind the esports side. LOL's strongest strength is not the presence of one of esports' most amazing players. LOL stories do a great job of bringing their players through crazy and interesting worlds. Naturally, Riot didn't start out producing amazing cinematic videos from the get-go. However, over the years, the League of Legends developers slowly developed an amazing sense for visuals and storytelling. The game's cinematics found immense success online but maybe it's finally time to bring those stories to other mediums. It's been a long time coming but maybe we'll finally see a massive League of Legends movie franchise.

Riot posted openings for a Global Head of Live-Action TV and a Global Head of Live-Action Film. The straightforward job listing immediately confirms Riot's plans in the near future. The humble video game developers look to take the beloved lore of the League of Legend universe to new platforms. Video games usually get adapted into films or TV shows but Riot obviously dares to try both.

The job listing requires applicants with over eight years of experience in the industry. This shows the company's resolve in producing live-action adaptations. If it were the Riot Games from a few years ago it would have been an entirely unthinkable idea. Additionally, Riot proved to be capable of more than simply developing and running an extremely successful MOBA.

In recent years, Riot successfully created its own digital K-Pop group, launched its own music label, and transitioned into other game genres. Naturally, the success of VALORANT doesn't automatically translate into Riot's immediate success in any venture. Above all, it's fair to give the company the benefit of the doubt as they try out yet another path for the League of Legends.

It will definitely take a lot of years before we finally see any League of Legends TV show or movie but it will definitely be worth the wait. Many fans want to see League of Legends stories in motion but it has to be done the right way.
