Denver Nuggets rookie Jamal Murray managed to play the first 82 games of his career through a sports hernia, according to Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports.

If Murray is trying to tip-off an iron man-type of legacy in Denver, this is surely an impressive way to do it. The Kentucky product started the season in an 0-for-16 slump from the field, failing to get on the board until his fifth professional game.

The 20-year-old guard salvaged his season as the games came along, eventually becoming the MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge, tallying a game-high 36 points and 11 assists in a scorching performance from beyond the arc.

Since the break, Murray scored in double figures in 19 of his 26 games, getting a slightly bigger role and minute allocation in the Nuggets' rotation.

The Canadian international is expected to be ready for training camp and is getting advice on how to better approach his hernia problem

Jamal Murray finished the 2016-17 season averaging 9.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
