Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz blew a 3-1 series lead to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2020 playoffs, so the high-flyer and the rest of his teammates are hungry to play basketball again and redeem themselves.

However, no one knows when the 2020-21 NBA season is going to start since the league calendar will likely never be the same.

With how the Jazz's season ended, Mitchell is hungry to get back on the court as soon as possible so he can get the bitter taste of defeat out of his mouth.

“We're ready for the season to start, next month if it had to,” Donovan Mitchell said Friday in an appearance on ESPN's The Jump. “I think we're fired up, and I think that's the proper mindset to have.”

Once the 2020 offseason period begins, the Jazz are expected to sign Mitchell to a lucrative rookie-scale extension. The Louisville product has established himself as one of the best young scorers in the NBA, so he's earned the money he's about to get from Utah.

During the 2019-20 regular season, Mitchell averaged 24.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. He made his first All-Star team as well.

As all dynamic stars do, Mitchell took his game to another level against the Nuggets in the 2020 playoffs at Walt Disney World. “Spida” put up 36.3 points per game, but it wasn't enough for the Jazz to hold off Jamal Murray and the Nuggets.

Moving forward, it will be fascinating to see how Mitchell improves his game. He's such a hard worker, so Utah knows Mitchell is going to bounce back after how the playoffs ended for the squad.
