Donovan Mitchell came out with another superb performance for the Utah Jazz on Sunday, lifting his side to a Game 4 victory against the Denver Nuggets, 129-127. The 23-year-old made NBA history with a game-high 51 points on Sunday and decided to send out a bit of a message to his haters after the game.

Mitchell opened up about how the criticism affects him on a personal level, and how he uses it as inspiration to get better.

Via The Associated Press:

“I love hearing negative things about me,” Donovan Mitchell said. “The knock on me has been inefficient, not a team player. I pride myself on being a team player. … People are going to say what they say. You can’t please everybody. For me, it’s how can I help my team win? Tonight it was scoring 50. Some nights it’s not.

“They want to talk. It’s just more fuel to the fire for me.”

This was Donovan Mitchell's second 50-point game in the playoffs this season, following his 57-point gem in Game 1. He has now joined the likes of Allen Iverson, Michael Jordan, and Wilt Chamberlain in the NBA history books as players who have had at least two 50-point outings in the same playoff run. What's amazing is that Mitchell has played in just four postseason games thus far.

The Jazz star knows he has a long way to go to get on their level:

“I’ve got a lot of work to do to catch up to those guys,” Mitchell cracked, when asked about the company he has joined with his recent feat.

This win lifts the Jazz to a 3-1 lead over the third-seeded Nuggets. Donovan Mitchell and Co. are in a prime position to advance to the next round and are looking to serve the first upset in the first round of this year's playoffs.
