On Saturday night, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell iced a win against the Detroit Pistons with a late jump shot and then appeared to trash talk Pistons big man Andre Drummond afterward.

Mitchell pointed toward Drummond and said, “You did this! This is your fault!”

Afterward, Mitchell clarified that it was a heckling fan—not Drummond—who drew his ire:

“I stopped listening to the guy in the corner,” said Mitchell, according to Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune. “He said something to me. It really just snapped for me. … I’m giving all the credit to the dude in the corner. He really pissed me off.”

Mitchell finished with 26 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in the victory, going 10-of-21 from the floor and making five of his six free-throw attempts. He also made numerous big buckets late in the contest, including that jumper.

It has been a relatively disappointing year for Mitchell overall.

While he is averaging 20.2 points per game, he is shooting just 41.2 percent from the floor, 30 percent from three-point range and 78.6 percent from the free-throw line, so he has not exactly been very efficient.

To be fair, efficiency was not really Mitchell's hallmark during his terrific rookie campaign either, but we all expected the 22-year-old to take a step forward rather than a step back this season.

With the win, the Jazz improved to 20-20 and are now two losses behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
