Since the start of this season, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell has turned a lot of heads with his impressive performances. Heading into last June's lottery, he was not one of the highly touted prospects, but Mitchell has proven that he could be considered the biggest steal of the draft.

The 21-year-old Louisville product is continuing to play at a very high level, especially during his team's last 10 games, where he has top-scored in each one of them. That said, he has now become just the second rookie in NBA history to accomplish that feat.

Mitchell can even proudly say that he has matched what the great Wilt Chamberlain did back in the 1959-60 season.

Beyond his jaw-dropping slams and clutch shots, Mitchell is making a strong case for himself as this season's Rookie of the Year. Along with Philadelphia 76ers forward Ben Simmons, they are the favorites to win the prestigious award, and at this point should be a two-man race between them.

Through 53 games, Mitchell has started in 45 of them and is averaging solid numbers of 19.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.5 steals in 31.9 minutes per game. With the Jazz winning 10 straight games now, the 6-foot-3 guard has been a huge boost to their quest of making it once again to the playoffs.

More importantly, the Jazz have now found another cornerstone for them in the years to come. Together with Rudy Gobert and Ricky Rubio, their three-headed monster will give opposing teams a lot of problems whenever they face them and could even turn out to be perennial playoff contenders moving forward.
